Kathleen M. Rager, MSA
Executive Director
Kathleen has a Masters Degree in Business Management from
Central Michigan University and has been employed at CARE
for over 20 years. She started her career with the agency as
its Prevention Director and eight years later, was appointed
to the role of Executive Director by the CARE Board of
Directors.
Paul Dailey, MS, LLPC
Clinical Program Director
Paul has his Bachelor's degree in Spanish from St. John
Fisher College and his Master's degree in counseling from
the University of Rochester in New York. He has extensive
experience within the fields of assessment and substance
abuse and mental health treatment. Paul started his career
at CARE in 2006 as the Managed Care Supervisor. Prior to
that, he was the director of a supportive case management
program for clients in a residential dual disorder treatment
facility.
Brenda Szalka, LMSW, CAC-I, CEAP
WorkLife Solutions
Program Director
Brenda received her Masters Degree in Occupational Social
Work from Wayne State University and has been with CARE
since 1994. Brenda also has her certification as an
Addictions Counselor and as an Employee Assistance
Professional. Additionally, she is qualified as a Substance
Abuse Professional to perform evaluations for the Department
of Transportation. Brenda is a Team Leader for the Macomb
Emergency Response Group and a volunteer for Community
Mental Health Survivors of Suicide.
Jeanne M. Rioux, BA, CPC-R
Family Program Director
Jeanne has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Oakland University
and is a Certified Prevention Consultant with the Michigan
Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP)
International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium
(IC/RC). In 1997, Jeanne became involved with CARE as a
volunteer for the Parent Education department and then
officially joined the CARE team in 1999.
Sheri Crell
Operations Manager
Sheri was introduced to CARE as a STEP Parenting Program
participant in 1995. Soon after she became a volunteer STEP
program facilitator and in 1999, she became an actual CARE
staff member. After holding several positions within the
agency, she became the agency’s Operations Manager in 2001.
Prior to her involvement with CARE she managed two dental
offices, a retail store and a family-owned heating & cooling
business as well as being a stay at home mother to her four
children.
Beth Lafata
Financial Manager
Beth came to CARE in 2002 with an Associates Degree in
Accounting and 13 years experience in the
Accounting/Bookkeeping field to serve as the agency’s Human
Resources/Payroll Administrator. In 2004, she was promoted
to the Financial Manager's position. In her spare time she
volunteers with her church and her children's sports teams.
